They came in so we could all go to Oktoberfest together (More on that in the next post). I definitely would have went on my own, but having them here with me made the experience so much better!
After picking them up from the airport, we decided to explore Frankfurt a bit on Saturday before heading to Morschen (with a quick stopover in Melsungen so I could show Monica a really old pharmacy which happens to be the original location of my company). In Frankfurt, we just wondered a bit and had lunch. It's pretty awesome just to go out and explore without any set plans. It was a great day.
There was a bit of drama when they stayed with me in the hotel and tried to blow up their air mattress. Yea, my electric current converter doesn't fit into the recessed outlets here (even though it is manufactured to fit all outlets on the European continent). So, of course it started sparking and smoking and we immediately gave up on that. Which led to us three and a bottle of wine, blowing up the ginormous air mattress (good decision on the double thick mattress guys!) by ourselves. But, as everyone knows:
"What's gonna work?" "Teamwork!"
And, of course I've documented the process for everyone's enjoyment.
It's so comfortable!
